Are breeding animals a bad thing to do??

I thought that breeding animals which are getting extinct in the wild is good in many senses. By doing so, we can not only prevent them from extinction, but show to people what kind of animals we are putting in danger by destroying the environment. But it may be the case that some zoos are killing animals they breed too much. This is called futile killing, and it is something that must be stopped. People of zoos should make sure how much they can afford to breed, and not breed more than they can handle. Animals have lives, and they have the right to live, too.
